Chattanooga Energy Efficiency Services

For companies to succeed, they must operate efficiently enough to not waste money. This is especially true as it pertains to energy consumption. Metro Services Incorporated helps businesses to study where waste is happening and recommend solutions that help improve the bottom line. Testing and calibrations enable us to measure equipment performance, offer recommendations and make adjustments to better control emissions. This is a better outcome for companies as well as the environment. Talk to us about energy studies and emissions testing so you can improve the efficiency of your own operations.

Energy Efficiency Studies

MSI is one of very few companies with three major energy designations. MSI is an Energy Star Partner, has a United States Department of Energy Qualified Process Heating Specialist on staff, and has a Certified Energy Auditor through the Association of Energy Engineers also on staff. MSI can optimize the energy in equipment or your entire facility by using our energy audit or energy survey. MSI’s renewable energy studies use the DOE’s PHAST software to accurately determine your electricity, fossil fuel, and steam costs, both in real dollars and units of consumption. This information is provided in a detailed report including graphs and spreadsheets of energy usage as well as potential savings. The service also includes energy management and audit, thermal images of your equipment. In today’s economy, this service is an invaluable addition to your company’s operational budget.

Environmental Emission Testing & Calibrations

Metro Services, Incorporated can also conduct testing and documentation demonstrating the thermal efficiency of ovens, furnaces, lehrs and other types of heating systems. For retrofits installation of low NOx burners, we provide independent baseline and post-retrofit NOx and boiler performance tests to ensure compliance with guarantee conditions. To maintain compliance and reduced unit operating costs we offer burner and fuel system tuning to achieve the lowest NOx emissions from your existing equipment, while maintaining acceptable flame characteristics, unburned carbon in ash, carbon monoxide and boiler performance. Measurements are made of the combustion products (O2, CO2, CO, NO, SO2) in the flue gas stream. With knowledge of the distribution of O2, CO and NO in the convective back pass, the field performance engineer can make adjustments to burner damper settings, burner tilt control, excess air control bias, or mill bias control in order to optimize the combustion characteristics of the system.
